POTS has made a move on Social Media, however that will be combatted by the 'freedom of speech' angle. While it is all about selective censorship and not really about the masses of trolls and extreme abuse that Social Media has enabled, it is a start in what has been a discussion topic over many years.
The attempt to make the Social Media businesses liable for what content they hold on their servers (i.e. the posts) has been thwarted time and time again using a variety of reasoning and legal angles.
Even Facebook's CEO and other representatives have faced government committees and they have all walked away with a smile on their faces.
